USA Dance 6042
(Smith Mountain Lake USABDA 642)

Welcome to SML 6042, Located in Moneta, Virginia

The Smith Mountain Lake USA Dance Chapter 6042 is undergoing more change!   This year we are trying something new to meet the needs of community dancers and members.  We will be having 2 winter (Feb, and March) and 2 spring (May and June) dances at Forest Recreation Center in Forest Va and keep 1 winter (Jan)  and 1 spring (April) dance at Moneta Community Center.  Please come show your support of dancing by attending our events!  Each dance is preceded by a 1 hour lesson by a professional dancer, Jose Zuniga from The Dance Space in Danville VA.  Private lessons available before the group lesson and can be arranged by contacting Jose directly at 434-836-3437.

ALSO, we are going to have a couple of extra dances just for fun and practice on the 5th Fridays of the month at the Elks Lodge in Lynchburg.  The focus will be on latin and rhythm dances due to the dance floor size but we will be sneaking in a few waltzes, tangos and foxtrots.  Keep checking the website for details!

All music is mostly strict tempo and played through a really great sound system.  You are welcome to bring your favorite song to share.  Feel free to request your favorite dance.

Cost: $7 per member.  $10 per non-member.  $5 per student.  Membership applications will be available at all dances, cost is $25 per year and benefits include discounted cost to any USA Dance sponsored event and a bi-monthly dance magazine.
