Welcome to SML 6042, Located in Moneta, Virginia
| The
Smith Mountain Lake USABDA Chapter is undergoing some
changes to better meet the needs of its dancers! Since there is
increased dancing opportunity in the Lynchburg area, we decided
to focus on the "Lake" area (Moneta) as
there is still no dancing there except for our monthly
dance. We have an awesome new professional sound
system! We are changing our lesson format to include basic info
the first half for beginners, step it up to challenge the experienced
dancers the second half and a demo dance following to show how what the
dance looks like when danced. There will no longer
be a Bedford Tea dance on
the first Sunday of the month.
Effective January 2009, the dance rates are going up slightly to cover the instructor fees and facility rental fees. USA Dance members will pay $7.00, non-members will pay $10.00, and students will pay $5.00. The monthly dances will be preceded by a lesson by Jose Zuniga, from the Dance Space in Danville from 7:30-8:30pm. Social dancing will follow until 10:30pm. Flyer only has dates/places through April. The rest of the DANCE DATES are May 21, June 18, July 30 (Elks Lodge), August 20, September 17, October 15, October 29 (Elks Lodge), November 19, December 17. Places and Dances TBA. (either at Moneta Community Center or Forest Recreation Center)
